Customer Reviews: Wow are those reviews legit? This toy is terrible!February 3, 2009 holly j 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Where do I start?
Basically there's a pretty shallow pool of Pocoyo toys for my son to pick from and this seemed the most fun and had a couple of good reviews. But they were wrong.
Don't get me wrong he love it and drags it about but I just wish there was something more to do.
The car is a pullback but as you can't remove Pato the duck's car he pulls back Pocoyo's car, knocks over Pato and he gets dragged along on his side. I guess you could pull back Ele but that's not the way every other pullback he's played with has worked so he has yet to figure it out.
And it doesn't race along at all, it only seems to crawl as far forwards as you've pulled it back.
As has been mentioned before the cars are held together with string. Why they didn't use rigid plastic is anyone's guess. Because if you remove one car [you can only remove the back car for some bizarre reason] the rope just dangles behind. Anyone designing this to actually have kids playing with it would have used ridged plastic tow-bars that tuck underneath, then making each car a separate toy. But no.
Whilst I'm on the bad list, you can't remove Pocoyo himself, however you can pop Pato and Ele from their rides but poor Pocoyo just has to sit there glued down watching his friends play.
So to the good points? Well they look just like their characters. On that they are spot about but I'm certain my son would swap a little sheen for more action.
Basically this toy I think is more of a collectible. It's designed to go on a shelf and look good. It's not designed to be played with. Which is a shame, since there's not much else on offer from the land of Pocoyo.

Purchased for our son when he was 2 1/2, he is now 4 & he & his friends still play with it.
Well made, the characters Ele & Pato are removeable, extending imaginative play. Pull Ele's scooter & the string retracts & in turn Pocoyo's car rolls forward. The string is tough to pull for 2 yr olds, so will require adult supervision, to prevent the odd 'frustrated toddler' moment!
Complements all Pocoyo range, promoting interactive dialogue, language skills & fine motor skills. Thoroughly recommend.

Pocoyo Vehicle Set
Super cute set with detachable figures. The car is pull back & can reach some quite high speeds. The only gripe is that you cannot separate the scooter, skateboard & car from one another. However my 3 year old loves it.
