This is the 1st LazyTown DVD to be released on a region 2 format. The 5 episodes on this DVD are from the shows first season: 1. WELCOME TO LAZYTOWN. The pilot episode of this worldwide smash hit show. 2. SPORTS DAY. The Lazy Towners compete in a super race - skateboarding, cycling, running, they do it all! 3. ROTTENBEARD Robbie Rotten dons a pirate costume and takes the LazyTown kids on a treasure hunt. 4. DEFEETED. Robbie Rotten tricks Sportacus into a pair of remote controlled shoes; can Sportacus defeat his own 2 feet? 5. DR ROTTENSTEIN. LazyTown comes down with a case of Spotty Vegetitus, and only Sportacus and Ziggy will be able to put things right. The special features on this DVD are: a sing-a-long to BING BANG, and INTRODUCING. INTRODUCING features Robbie Rotten, Sportacus and Stephanie, and 3 miscellaneous pieces of film and info relating to them: ROBBIE ROTTEN: 1. Robbie's rules. 2. Robbie's disguises. 3. Eye spy. SPORTACUS: 1. Energy tips. 2. Get up and go. 3. Someone's in trouble. STEPHANIE: 1. Stephanie says. 2. I feel like dancing. 3. I feel like singing. I love this show, because it inspired me to loose weight, who knows......... maybe it will inspire you too! Utterly fabulous!
Great show - but DVD image is disappointing April 25, 2007 Floppy Feet (Derbyshire, England) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My son is crazy about LazyTown, and was pleased to get this DVD. I, however, felt the DVD was let down by its picture quality - the image is interlaced which may indicate a poor NTSC to PAL conversion. Fine for your kids if they have a little 20" TV in their bedroom, but if you want to watch on a large LCD screen then you might be better importing the Region 1 disc.
My Tweenies love it!! March 7, 2007 T. Luke (UK) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've got 3 kids - 13, 11 and 3. They ALL love it!! My older 2 sing the songs all the time, and have taught the 3 yr old all the words! They even made up a dance to one of their favorite songs. My 13 yr old was quite relieved to find out that some of her school friends watch it too. This is good family fun for all the family. My husband and I quite like it too....
As cool as Iceland December 30, 2006 Olivia Blair (Aberfeldy) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
LazyTown is a children's television program that originated in Iceland (where it is known as Latibaer) that features a cast and crew from both the United States and Iceland. It was created by Magnus Scheving, an aerobics champion and CEO of LazyTown Entertainment, who also stars in the show. The show formerly aired on CBS on September 18, 2004 and ended on September 9, 2006. The show has been given the German EMIL award by the TV magazine Spielfilm. The series recently wrapped production on its second season, which debuted in the U.S. on Nick Jr. on September 25th, 2006. The main character is Stephanie (Julianna Rose Mauriello), who arrives in town and urges her new friends Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel to go outside and be active, instead of staying inside and playing video games all day. Her uncle, the bumbling Mayor Milford Meanswell, enlists the help of Sportacus 10 (Magnus Scheving), a self-described "slightly-above-average hero". It is Sportacus' job to inspire the kids to play outside, and to help solve low-key emergencies that occur from time to time. However, all this does not sit well with Robbie Rotten (Stefan Karl Stefansson), a lazy man who lives in an underground lair hidden just on the edge of town. Many of the episodes involve Robbie Rotten dressing up in a disguise and trying to ruin the kids' fun and/or make Sportacus leave town forever.
